At the AGM it was announced, somewhat perfunctorily, that the loop league trophy would be retired after being awarded for the 2013 season. There were a number of reasons for this, including:
But the committee has changed its mind! It regards loop flights as something to be encouraged. Independently planning and executing a loop flight (out & return or triangle) is an challenge that can push forward a pilot's skills without the additional concern of arranging retrieves that downwind XCs require, and is sufficiently distinct from the grid challenge that it's worth keeping on.

After further years Meets at Edenfield, the new premises for the coming winter season evening meets is to be;

(just 1/2 mile from Jtn3 of M65 heading towards Hoghton and Walton le Dale.)
The Boatyard has good tarmac parking onsite, along with a comfortable ground floor room booked for Psc Club Nights. It is worth visiting their good website for full Inn details, but the Inn boasts a farm to supply their kitchen.
I know its not that time yet but its appropriate. Pennine Soaring Clubs Annual Crimbo Curry night was voted in on the last club meeting for Friday the 6th December. So if you weren't there you didnt get to vote and you missed out on a super informative Xc meeting and a chance to vote.
So after years of research and experience we have come up the the plan of "Lets do exactly what we always do and where we always do it"! And why? Because it works. So the plan of action is to dine at the Spice of Bengal Matt Preston BaileyMeeting at the pub down the road on the right (towards town), Think its the Old Black Bull? from 6.30 to 7 leaving to get to Curry house for 8.
